Discover the Sahara Desert on a 3 Day Marrakech to Merzouga Tour
This 3 days desert trip from Marrakech to Merzouga is the classic route for travelers who want to see Morocco change day by day: from High Atlas mountain passes to kasbah villages, then all the way to the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi.
Starting in Marrakech, the imperial city known as the Red City, you’ll cross the High Atlas, visit Ksar of Ait-Ben-Haddou (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), and spend your first night in a comfortable hotel/riad in the Dades area. You’ll then traverse the majestic Todgha Gorge. Next, you’ll arrive in Merzouga for a camel trek at sunset, sandboarding experience, and an overnight stay in a desert camp (standard or luxury) with Berber music and dance performances around a campfire. On the last day, you return to Marrakech by a different road through Rissani and and the Draa Valley, the longest valley in Morocco, offering breathtaking scenery along the way.
