Overview of Best 3 Days Desert Tour from Fes to Merzouga
Our 3 day Fes to Merzouga Desert Trip is the ideal choice if you want a real Sahara experience without changing hotels every night or rushing through the drive. In just 3 Days and 2 Nights, you’ll travel from the cool Middle Atlas Mountains to the warm dunes of Merzouga, with time to actually enjoy the places in between.
The tour begins in Fes, one of Morocco’s historic imperial cities. From there, you’ll travel through Ifrane, known as “Little Switzerland of Morocco”, and the cedar forests near Azrou. You’ll stop for wide views over the palm-filled Ziz Valley before arriving in the late afternoon at the Merzouga desert, where, you’ll experience a camel ride across the golden dunes and spend a night in a desert camp with Berber music and dancing around a campfire. The tour includes one night in a desert camp and one night in a comfortable hotel/riad near the dunes, giving you both the magic of the dunes and a more relaxed second evening.
On the second day, you’ll explore the Merzouga region by 4×4: meet nomad families, visit Khamlia for Gnawa music, and see desert landscapes that many travelers miss on faster itineraries. Then on day three, we return to Fes with scenic breaks along the same beautiful route.
